LZ Albany Location From LZ X-Ray and LZ Columbus

The small map above is a section of the larger map at the left, at the red arrow.  We were marching through the jungle from X-ray above, towards Columbus, about 2 miles.  About 3/4 of the way to Columbus, the 2nd Battalion, 7th Cav., turned northwest towards Albany.  When the first elements of the Battalion reached the edge of Albany, a jungle clearing, that started the ambush and ensuing battle that took 151 American lives.  A relief unit left Columbus and marched overland to Albany, but the damage had already been done.  The first wounded were evacuated to Pleiku, in the upper right corner of the map at the left.  B-52's bombed the Chu Pong Massif to the left of X-ray above, where the enemy was headquarted.  The small inset map at the far upper left, shows Central South Vietnam with the arrow pointing to Chu Pong Massif.  This was about 10 miles from the Cambodian border.
